Bridle appears to be tied at the throatlatch/cheekpiece intersection. Note there is no noseband. Folio 161v

Hardware needed: 2 bridle bosses, 3 dozen decorative tacks. Note the snaffle bit (similar to modern full-cheek snaffles) and the way the horse's forelock has been braided.


Hardware needed: 2 rings, 2 bit hangers, 3 dozen decorative tacks. Note the double reins attached to the snaffle bit. The noseband may have been a metal cavesson.

Bernabo Visconti Statue, c. 1363

Hardware needed: 2 bridle bosses, 1 decorative charm, 2 strap ends (6 total if reins are included). Based on the pattern depicted on the straps, it's possible that this bridle is of a woven material.

Queste del Saint Graal, c. 1380-1385

Hardware needed: 2 bridle bosses, 2 bit hangers, several dozen decorative tacks. Additional strap ends are needed for the reins.
